Ian is a real professional both as a teacher and as a player. If you want to improve your tennis level Ian is the answer. Wether you are a beginner or a seasoned veteran you will get great results working with Ian. As someone who has had experience with coaches in the big time academies- Rafa Nadal in Mayorca, IMG in Bradenton , or VanDermeer in Hilton Head, I can guarantee that Ian's coaching is excellent.
Started hitting twice a week with Ian for the last 4 months. We’ve worked on many aspects of the game. My cardio, consistency, placement, shot selection, decision making, serve, backhand and power have markedly improved; I also lost close to 20 pounds which was a lot easier after 2 sessions a week. Tennis is like anything, you only get out of it what you put into it which means I go and serve by myself for 45 minutes a couple times a week when I’m not hitting with Ian (strongly recommend this to really improve). You need reps to improve. Ian can crush the ball which is great but he also helps me improve at my pace to get just a little better every day. I don’t want a coach who hits the ball soft and directly to me every time, I need someone who will push me to see what I’m capable of. I’ve taken lessons from a bunch of people but these have dramatically improved my game (according to the wife as well as friends)
Ian is a rockstar. I’ve been working on getting my game pretty serious for the last 2 years and have been bouncing around some coaches and can happily say Ian is one of (if not the best) coach I’ve worked with. He’s diligent, wickedly intelligent, and very detailed with correcting small flaws and baked in bad habits. Don’t let his age fool you, he has the knowledge of some of the most seasoned veterans out there. It’s very rare you find someone as talented as Ian whose love for teaching and the sport is palpable. Whether you’re just getting started, have a couple years there your belt, or a touring pro, Ian will always have something to teach you.
I’ve trained with Ian for the past fifteen months on a weekly basis. I appreciate his professionalism and great personality. He is not only a great coach, but has become a good friend. I can say I’ve noticed all around improvements on my game. He tailored the lesson to each individual focusing on where he/she needs help the most. I can say I am hitting cleaner and more consistent shots compared to a year ago. Recently, I’ve convinced my girlfriend, who is a beginner, to start lesson with Ian as well. I am starting to see some major improvements after a month. I highly recommend Ian to players of all levels looking to improve their games.
My family has been taking private tennis lessons with Ian for almost one year. We enjoyed the time with him. Ian is super patient and encouraging. He pays attention to everyone’s progress and adapts his instruction to fit the individual needs. His teaching is very efficient as he can quickly nail down the point that one needs to improve. He is also energetic and keeps each of us busy during the whole lessons. I am so happy to have Ian as my tennis coach. And I highly recommend Ian to everyone that wants to learn tennis.
Ian was great! Would highly recommend. He was easily able to cater to different levels, from beginner to experienced (my fiancée was new to the game and he was very patient, making it a fun experience for her. As an experienced player, Ian separately worked with me to improve aspects of my game - ensuring to tailor his approach based on what I was looking for). Ian was also responsive and easy to schedule with. He came to courts of our choosing and was always punctual. Look no further!
Ian has been teaching my girls for two years. They were complete novices at the start, but Ian has been a superb instructor. They have gained skill and confidence from him. He has inspired a competitive spirit, but always good sportsmanship as well. He has made tennis so fun that the whole family has gotten involved. He worked with my four year old with great patience in addition my girls ages my 7, 9, and 11. He even was able to teach me, someone who could never before so much as throw a ball, how to play and actually rally with my kids. Ian has been a wonderful coach and mentor. We highly recommend him to anyone looking looking to improve their tennis game at any skill level.
Ian is AMAZING. He is a great coach and a very dedicated to making me a better player. He helped me change my stroke and become a more efficient player. He has helped me to become a consistent player and I am always ready to sweat and run during our sessions. I went from one hour sessions to 1.5 hours and I am hoping to move to 2 hour sessions soon. He has improved my fitness. That’s how we play—until the strings are gone
